The clinical haematology service within the division of speciality medicine is based at The James Cook University Hospital and also provides a range of services at the Friarage Hospital.
We also provide support and advice in the community for people with malignant disorders.
We offer a full and comprehensive range of modern diagnostic and therapeutic services treating all diseases of the blood, including:
- Acute and chronic leukemias
- Myeloma
- Lymphoma
- Aftercare of bone marrow transplant patients
- Myeloproliferative disorders
- Haemoglobinopathies
- Anaemias
- Bleeding disorders
- And blood clotting abnormalities.
The department also runs the laboratory service for haematology within the pathology division at both The James Cook University Hospital and Friarage Hospital (please see laboratory haematology)
