Biography
Reece Walker joined James Cook University Hospital in January 2015, after enrolling on the South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust prospects programme.
He started working within the pathology labs, as a healthcare science support worker. Within this role he worked for the clinical teams department and biochemistry department on the Veritas trial.
Over the past seven years he has moved away from the labs and into a data administrative role working within the trauma and orthopaedic team in the research and development department.
He has recently been appointed as the trial data manager for the Academic Centre for Surgery (ACeS).
Currently, at the STRIVE Academic Centre, his main responsibilities are building, managing, and maintaining the REDCap system and projects and supporting the research nurses.
Using the REDCap system, he has built and managed several national level service evaluations and research projects such as, COMPOSE, OPEN study and Famous C-19.
