Biography
Tobian Muir is a consultant in plastic and reconstructive surgery, based at The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough since 2003. He has a subspecialist interest in treatment of vascular anomalies and electrochemotherapy treatment of cancer. The James Cook vascular birthmark unit has experience of 3,000 sclerotherapy treatments of vascular malformations over the last 15 years.
Tobian is a member of UK VASIG (UK Vascular Malformation special interest group), and the co-founder of INSPECT (International Network for Sharing Practice in Electrochemotherapy), a collaboration which includes 41 European centres and 2,060 patients in the registry. Tobian is the chief investigator for the BEST (Bleomycin electrosclerotherapy) NIHR study and the associate lead for Medconnect North.
