Patients across Teesside are being asked to return any loaned nebulisers that they no longer need.
South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which includes The James Cook University Hospital and community wards in Redcar Primary Care Hospital, is holding an equipment amnesty from today (Monday 30 May) until Tuesday 14 June when any unused nebulisers will be gratefully received back with ‘no questions asked’.
The nebulisers will have been loaned to patients who have been unwell with their respiratory condition.
All returned nebulisers will be assessed and safety tested before being reloaned to other patients.
Patients who have an unused nebuliser are asked to ring the trust’s Single Point of Access team on 01642 065070 (option two then option one) and they will arrange collection. Or they can be dropped off at one of the main reception desks at Redcar Hospital or James Cook in Middlesbrough.
