The entrance lobby and the existing corridor between the urgent treatment centre (UTC) and emergency department at James Cook will be closed from Monday 24 March until Sunday 20 April.
Patients and ambulances can continue to access all urgent and emergency care services as normal.
During this period, new corridors will be created to link different parts of the urgent treatment centre and emergency department together.
Any patients who require access to the urgent treatment centre will be directed outside the building and back into the UTC, following the purposely built pedestrian routes.
The children and young person’s emergency department waiting areas will not be affected by the works.
Patients should continue to contact their GP, pharmacist or 111 for non-urgent health issues in the first instance.
Patients should always call 999 in a life-threatening emergency.
