Please find attached the guidance on how to register with Diasend by creating a personal
account at www.diasend.com/register.
You may remember the name from the computer screen that we generally use to look at
the results from the previous two weeks or more of blood glucose readings.
For those who have a pump we also download the insulin pump usage.
Both of these help in guiding you to make adjustments where needed to improve your control, keep you feeling well and keep you safe.
This would allow you to have a very good visual view of your control whenever you need
it.
It can also be uploaded the day before or the day of clinic so that we have more time
to discuss your results and hopefully this will reduce unnecessary waiting in outpatients.
One additional advantage is that even between clinic appointments you will be able to let send information from the downloaded meters and pumps.
The important information you need from us is your Clinic ID number (97-53143) which you need to enter into your account.
This will allow us to view your details and we could then be more helpful in advising you on any changes.
Most of the devices we use in our clinics are compatible.
Diasend is not useable with those using a Medtronic insulin pump but their care link programme is similar and available as before.
The good news is that the service is absolutely free now and we are told also user
friendly.
Certainly from our experience it is user friendly and you are welcome to discuss
this with us should you have any concerns.
Additionally the Diasend support team is available to help you with your registration and with your first upload and we would encourage you to do this.
