The information from all of the scans and biopsies will then be discussed at our weekly Multi-Disciplinary Team meeting (you may hear this referred to as MDT).
This team includes: consultant surgeon, oncologists, nurse, radiologists, pathologists, speech and language therapists, dieticians and any other health care professionals involved in your care.
You will then be invited to a combined clinic to discuss the next steps of your care.
You may also receive an appointment for a dental assessment in the oral surgery department. This is a routine assessment of your teeth and jaw bones as some of the treatments offered can affect this area, this will be discussed with you if applicable.
You are welcome to bring a family member or friend to the combined clinic to keep you company and if you wish to accompany you during your consultation. You may also want to write a list of any questions or concerns that you may have so you can discuss them with the consultant.
