Lie on your back and bend your knees to a comfortable position (Fig A).
Flatten your back onto the bed, tilting the pelvis (This is difficult to see in the illustration but easier to see in the video) (Fig B).
Slowly peel your spine off the bed, bone by bone. It is important that you keep the pelvis tilted throughout the movement with the tail bone tucked under (Fig C).
- Do not allow your back to arch.
- As you practise this exercise you will find that you will be able to peel more and more of your spine off the bed while maintaining the correct position.
