South Tees musculoskeletal (MSK) service offers specialist assessment, diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions to patients living within:

Middlesbrough (North East North Cumbria Integrated Care Board)
Redcar and Cleveland (North East North Cumbria Integrated Care Board)
Hambleton and Richmondshire (Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board)

What is South Tees MSK service?

South Tees MSK service is a team of GPs, advanced practice and specialist physiotherapists and advanced practice podiatrists with expertise in conditions affecting mobility, function and wellbeing.

We can see adults (18 years or older) living within Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland or Hambleton and Richmondshire who have a joint, tendon, muscle, ligament or soft tissue problem for further assessment, investigation and treatment.

Who are we?

We have a team of highly experienced clinicians including:

General practitioners with a specialist Interest in MSK care (GPSIs)
Advanced practice physiotherapists
Advanced practice podiatrists
Specialist MSK physiotherapists
MSK administration staff

From the information that is provided on your referral your appointment will always be made with the most appropriate clinician for your symptoms or it may even be sent to another department to ensure you see the right person that can help you as quickly as possible.

How can we help?

Our clinicians are specialists in musculoskeletal care so each patient can be offered the best management for their symptoms.

Each patient will be offered a full assessment followed by a treatment plan which will be part of a shared decision-making process and options for your care will be discussed and agreed fully with you.

We may need to order additional investigations or refer you on to other services so you can benefit from further specialist care or rehabilitation.
