Description
Present in patients with either isolated primary ovarian failure or associated with other autoimmune endocrinopathies e.g Hypoadrenalism, Insulin dependent diabetes, Pernicious anaemia (autoimmune polyglandular syndromes). The autoantibodies are closely related to antibodies to adrenal cortex and testis with which they can also be found. All recognise different forms of cytochrome p450. Ovarian forms are P450c17 and P450 scc. Other autoantibodies have been linked to primary ovarian failure including those recognising 3 beta hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase.
