Reception staff
Welcome you the centre and inform other members of the team of your arrival. Please always report to Reception on entering and leaving the centre.
Prosthetic services manager
Manages the day to day running of the prosthetic service. She will liaise with the team to implement any changes and improvements to the service.
Consultant physiotherapist in prosthetic rehabilitation
Runs clinics for the assessment of both new patients and established patients who wish to have their artificial limbs reviewed or want to discuss problems associated with wearing their artificial limb.
Consultant in rehabilitation medicine
Runs clinics for new and established patients. He is available for consultation on any medical issues relating to prosthetic rehabilitation.
Physiotherapist
Teaches you both general exercises and stump exercises to improve your mobility and strength. They show you how to use your prosthesis correctly, and review your progress. They will provide any necessary walking training that may include balance and walking on stairs, steps and uneven ground.
Physiotherapy assistants
Are available to escort you to our consulting and fitting rooms if required. They can assist you with using the toilet and dressing whilst you are attending the centre. They may weigh you and can supply you with additional stump socks.
Prosthetists
Who are employed by our service partner Ottobock, design and fit your artificial leg or arm. They are responsible for its ongoing maintenance, repair and adjustment. They work closely with other team members to ensure the prosthesis meets your needs. You will have your own named prosthetist.
Prosthetic technicians
Are also employed by Ottobock. They make, assemble, adjust and repair artificial limbs to the specification prescribed by the prosthetist and component manufacturer. They ensure that your artificial limb is ready for fitting and delivery according to agreed contract times and patient appointment schedules.
Rehabilitation engineer
Can, if required, provide an inspection service and advice to maintain quality standards for the repair and maintenance of artificial limbs.
All prosthetics are manufactured and repaired on site by our service partner, Ottobock.
